| Trek Grade: | D (Mountaineering) | | Trek Duration: | 15 Days | | Hotel in KTM: | 4 Nights | | Seasons: | Feb. to May & Sept. to Nov. | Our unique itinerary takes you into the high valleys of the Khumbu region, providing magnificent views of the awesome Khumbu peaks as you acclimatize for the trekking ahead. We have the opportunity to conquer Island Peak (6,200m.). Whilst Island Peak is well within the capabilities of any fit and determined hill walker, it can be demanding and requires some basic climbing experience.
This is the most popular climbing – trekking peak in Nepal. From Dingboche the mountain is clearly seen as rock. The mountain itself is the extension of the South Ridge of Lhotse Shar separated by a small col. The ridge from this point leads to summit of Island Peak. Imja Tse not only provides an enjoyable climb but also provides most spectacular scenery of Himalayas in the Khumbu region. Seen from the summit the gaint mountains, Nuptse (8,501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) make a semi circle in the north. The views the east, Baruntse and Ama Dablam in the south add more charm for climbing Island Peak.
Our adventure begins with a short flight to Lukla and two days of easy walking to Namche Bazaar. On the way up, there is also time to explore this magnificent valley towards two of the many alpine lakes in the area and summit some of the nameless peaks, for the best views of Everest in the whole of the Khumbu Valley.
